Wall Walks – Kinetic Sports Rehab

– Hey, it’s Jason from Kinetic Sports
Rehab. I’m here to demonstrate the wall walks exercise, which is a great way to
start to increase a little bit of range of motion in your shoulder as you might be
recovering from an injury. So, find a wall, start with your
fingertips on it, and you wanna be very passive in the shoulder here. Slowly, just
walking your hand up the wall, using your fingertips to do a large
portion of the motion and stopping at your end range of motion. And that might be
just where you start to feel a little bit of pain, and we wanna stop shy of that
spot every single time. So, we wanna keep these entirely pain-free
and then, slowly, walking back down. So, you’re just gonna go up and down a few
times, trying to increase that range of motion over time, but really not pushing
into anything that’s gonna cause any pain or feeling any resistance, really, coming
back down. So, that’s with your arms straight in front of you. You can also stand to the side and do the
same thing. Range of motion this way might be a little bit more limited, but no
problem there, just stay out of your painful ranges as you walk back down. We
wanna continue doing this, getting more, and more and more range of
motion but you wanna make sure you stay relaxed here. You don’t wanna shrug or
have to bend through the torso or anything to make that motion happen. So, really
isolating motion through the shoulder as you walk right back down. Repeat that several times, and you can do
this multiple times through the day. Generally, you want to keep that shoulder
moving, so, as long as it’s not causing you pain, keep going, practice that
multiple times through the day and have fun. Be kinetic. – Hey, guys. I hope you enjoyed the
