Rehabilitation Therapy | Knee replacement surgery: A fresh start | Good Samaritan Society

Evon to class: Good! Nice and slow, focus on your breathing. Evon interview: I think a lot of times people, when they get a joint replacement they kind of
think that’s the end of the line but it’s not. You were at the end of
the line and now you get to start fresh. You can do more than what you could when
you were in pain all the time when that joint was so degenerated. You get a fresh
start, you get a day one joint that is freshly made, freshly put into you and
made for you. Evon to class: Bring that hand up in front. Evon interview: I think we can get into a rut where we
mourn the loss of certain things like “I used to be so flexible, I used to be this, I used to be that,” but instead you have new adventures and new new ways to look
at things. I’m not gonna be able to do what I could when I was 30 years old but,
I sure can do better than I’m doing now. Your attitude truly determines what your future is going to be. If my attitude is, “Sweet! Now I’ve got that new knee I can go out and do all kinds of new things,” or a new hip
or whatever. You can at least try but if you don’t have that positive attitude
then honestly you are going to start going downhill. Don’t let the fact that you had
a surgery keep you from doing what you want to do. Evon to class: Nice job you guys! Grab a drink of water.
