Rehabilitation & Injury Management Degree – Claire & Ewa on Why They Chose The Course

Claire: Hi, my name is Claire Ballamy, I’m
from Llangollen and I’m studying Rehabilitation and Injury Management. Ewa: My name is Ewa and I’m student of Rehabilitation
and Injury Management year 1 Claire: Before I came to University I was
a specialist teacher of Physical Education and I came to the clinic last year as a patient
and got talking to some of the students and decided that I would like to give it a go
and it sort of snowballed from there really. Ewa: Before I came to University I was working
in a health spa where I was practicing and improving my skills and constantly expanding
my knowledge. After 4 years working I decided it’s the time
or me to do a step forward and that’s why I decided to apply for Rehabilitation and
Injury Management at the Glyndwr University. Claire: I’ve really enjoyed learning again
particularly anatomy and physiology in a lot more detail than I have experienced before
and then I really liked working in the onsite clinic. Ewa: I love the clinic. I’m a hands on person. I love to see my knowledge being put into
practice. I love interaction with my clients and seeing
how the therapists can improve their health and wellbeing. Claire: The support has been excellent, lots
of variety of staff input they are very experienced, very understanding and they’re always available
if anybody is struggling they encourage you to go for tutorials so that you can do one
to one and help you with anything you’re struggling with. Ewa: The support from the lecturers and from
other staff has been great and they’re always there for us, they’re very flexible regarding
appointments or help. There is plenty of support from the university
aswell. Academic skills centre, disability team aswell
is great. Yeah I’ve really enjoyed it. Claire: When I leave Glyndwr University I’d
like to work in a private clinic and specialise in the treatment of athletes particularly
triatheletes. Ewa: I’m hoping to get a job where I could
gain more knowledge and expand and improve my skills helping my patients. Also I would like to continue my career and
applying for a Masters in Physiotherapy. Claire: It’s a very friendly university, there
is lots on offer, it’s very diverse, people from all, different nationalities, different
ages, all in one big mix and I love being here. Ewa: It has great location for going out and
about, great facilities and people are very supportive.
