narcissist is invulnerable and has no weaknesses because they have no feelings. But this is a myth. Narcissists are extremely sensitive, more so because of
their gigantic egos. In fact, Dr. Todd Grande often characterizes Vulnerable
Narcissists as “hypersensitive”. The narcissist has often isolated the
survivor, limiting the survivor’s contact mainly to the narcissist and the
narcissist’s entourage. This is a manipulation tactic aimed at controlling
the survivors perception so that the survivor feels disempowered while
believing the narcissist has all the power. This is false! As you exit your
relationship with the narcissist, it becomes confusing to see that the world
can function outside of this sphere, without the narcissist. In time, you realize that you
lived in the bubble of the narcissist’s funhouse where reality was distorted to
suit the narcissist self-image. In the cold light of day, reality tells a
different story. The narcissist can only exercise control in a certain carefully
crafted ecosystem. So, let’s look at the components. Narcissist can’t exist
without: Number One: SUPPLY – this is the energy, life-force, or essence the
narcissist extracts from their various sources in order to feed their false
persona. The loss of supply is catastrophic for the narcissist and this
compels them to create new personas to hunt for new sources. Number Two: The FALSE PERSONA or the “False Self”. This is an idealized, counterfeit
personality constructed by the narcissist to draw attention to
themselves. The narcissist usually has multiple false personas. They’re like
psychological Frankenstein monsters that shape-shift according to who the
narcissist is mirroring in order to obtain supply. Number Three: DETOX – the next step is to detox your mind from the influence of your abuser. You’ll soon
realize that the only power that the narcissist has of your mind is your
belief in the narcissist’s narrative. DON’T BELIEVE THEM! Use your journal to reflect your story. Which ideas are yours and which ones were the lies that the
narcissists fed to you? Use critical analysis of your experience to root the
narcissist out of your mind. YOU define YOU. Write down YOUR truth! Detox is a key part of the healing process. It involves discovering and identifying the toxins
that affect you. Usually, these are your triggers. The narcissist has used
Coercive Control tactics to subtly influence your thoughts and feelings.
This is called “introjection”. They may have achieved this by
dominating you, manipulating you, and isolating you until their views have superseded your own. This is how the narcissist seems to inject certain
thoughts into your head. For example, the Target may have
internalized the idea that they have to please the narcissist in order to avoid
the narcissists rage and punishments. Or the Target may have internalized the
idea that their needs don’t matter because they have been lured into the
narcissists ecosystem, surrounded by the narcissists family members, lieutenants
and flunkies who all dance to the tune of the narcissist pipe. In this environment,
the narcissist’s needs have eclipsed everyone else’s so the target comes to accept
this as the reality. Oftentimes what happens when you wake up to reality is
you blame yourself for buying into the narcissist’s.
However this only prolongs the agony it’s another one of the narcissists
psychological traps. By blaming yourself you exonerate the narcissist and this
increases their chances of a successful Hoover. Whatever you do, don’t fall for it!

  1. Miss Kim narc free you and me

I've listened to each and every one of your videos absolutely brilliant I love your approach! I love people who say what they know and say it clearly!

  2. I'm not sure how you got Queen Elizabeth II to voice over on this video but it was awesome:) yes detoxing is a must. Easier when going non contact. In my case it's impossible to go no contact bc of a shared toddler but I do my best to keep it at a minimum. I found I still get easily triggered my her emails and texts. I still have a lot of work to do.
