Scales comes to school hurt and his friends are very worried. Scales: Um. Ok you see what happened was I was taking a shower and accidentally slipped. Nothing major. Everything is ok. Lee: What’s Up home boy? Where have u been?
Scales: Oh hey Lee. I’ve been around. What have you been up to?
Lee: Now you know ur boy. I’ve been getting it in. You know, a little bit of this and a little bit of that, but what’s up with you dude? What happened to your arm?
Scales: Oh nothing bro. When I was at home come, I was messing around on my stairs and sell down. I ended up breaking my arm. Lee: Word, I’m sorry to hear that big homie.
You need to be more careful. Scales: Yeah I know. But I need to get to
class so I’ll see you later. Lee: Man either you are the clumsiest guy
I know or you just have a lot of bad luck. What happened to you now Scales?
Scales: Oh hey Lee. You know I’m always clumsy right.
Lee: Come on now bro. You need to get yourself together. I mean you can’t have no swag walking around what a busted arm and leg. That just ain’t cool my dude.
Scales: yeah I know. I will get it together one day.
Lee: yeah you need to work on that. So what happened this time?
Scales: well um. Ok you see what happened was I was taking a shower and accidentally
slipped. Nothing major. Everything is ok. Don’t worry about it.
Lee: What do you mean don’t worry about it. My homeboy is coming to school all broke up
looking like he’s a crash test dummy and I’m supposed to be cool with it?
Scales: Look Lee, just stay out of my business alright. It’s nothing major. Don’t worry about
it. My mom says it will heal. Lee: If you say so man. Franky: what is wrong with you dude?
Lee: I am good bro. I’m just over your boy Scales.
Franky: What’s going on Lee? Did Scales turn down listening to one of your new rap songs
(laughing). Lee: Ha ha ha. Very funny. But anyway he is
just trippin’. I mean these last couple of weeks dude its been coming to school all broke up and I was just asking him what’s happened. Franky: What do you mean all broke up?
Lee: Franky, one week arm is broke, and the next week his leg is all busted up. I mean
I don’t know what to Scales is doing but it don’t make sense.
Franky: yeah these last few months he’s always coming to school with bruises and stuff. I
just thought maybe he was clumsy. Lee: I don’t know. I was just trying to let
him know I was worried about him but he went all crazy on me, and really killed my vibe.
It was like he was hiding something. Franky: I don’t know. I think we need to tell
somebody. Lee: Awe heck naw. I’m ain’t snitching.
Franky: Lee get over yourself. Something bad happened to our friend we need to let
somebody know. It’s not about snitching but we need to make sure he is okay.
Lee: I feel you bro. Mr. Rose: Hey son. I’m glad you stopped by.
Snakes: Hey Mr Rose. Yeah I came by because Lee told me you wanted to see me.
Mr. Rose: That’s right. From what the boys tell me you have been running into some bad luck lately. Snakes: Yeah I messed up my arm and my leg. Nothing big Mr. Rose. I just need to be more careful.
Mr. Rose: Is that right. Well what does your mom think of this? As a matter of fact what
about that new boyfriend she has been seeing? Snakes: Oh you mean Tony. He don’t care
about us now. Mr. Rose: So I see you two aren’t getting
along. Scales: No. I think he hates me. He is always yelling and telling me to get out. Mr. Rose: Scales from what the boys have been telling me you have been coming to school with bruises about the same length of time
that your mom has been dating that new guy. Scales: Mr Rose its. I mean.
Mr. Rose: Son is this new guy. Scales: Mr. Rose it’s not his fault. I just
need to stay out of his way. If I would be good.
Mr. Rose: Hold, on, hold on. There is nothing that you are doing wrong to make this guy hurt you.
No matter what you do no one should hurt you just because you may have did something wrong. Scales: They shouldn’t?
Mr. Rose: No Scales. Does your mom know what’s going on?
Scales: No. I was scared she wouldn’t believe me. she really likes Tony.
Mr. Rose: Look we need to go see if we can get somebody to help you. I have a friend who works down at the county that I think and help you and talk to your mom and deal with that Tony. Is that okay? Scales: Yeah. Thanks you for your help Mr Rose.
