Hi, I’m Taylor from BioSkin. In this video, we’re gonna be talking about the AFTR, and how it helps you regain mobility quickly following a traumatic injury. Swelling is your body’s natural response after any tissue is harmed. Blood rushes to the injury site to deliver white blood cells, and other fluids needed to clean up the damaged tissue, and begin the healing process. The problem is, this fluid, or edema, can accumulate and stick around for too long, which can cause pain, and eventually, further damage. The AFTR pushes excess swelling out from around the joint, in order to speed up this recovery process, and get you back to normal activity. The compressive sleeve of the AFTR is constructed from our proprietary materials, to provide compression from above the ankle to the base of the toes, while still keeping your foot cool, dry, and comfortable. The AFTR includes medial and lateral stabilizers, and this non-elastic figure eight stirrup strap to provide some light stabilization to the ankle and the hind foot. This ankle stabilization prevents painful motion, and allows the injured tissue the opportunity to heal properly. The length of the brace is customizable. Just trim along these blue tic marks, so the sleeve doesn’t go over your toes, or to the length that feels comfortable to you. Once the swelling has cleared out, and you’re ready to return to activity, we recommend switching to the TriLok ankle brace, for greater stability and control during the time when re-injury to fragile ligaments is most common. If you have a recent injury in your foot or ankle, the AFTR is an excellent choice to reduce swelling and pain, and get you back to doing the things you love.
